The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, or FAO, identified the four pillars of food safety as availability, access, utilization, and stability. The United Nations acknowledged the Right to Food in the Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, and has since said that it is important for the enjoyment of all different rights. In the continents with the biggest food-related problems – Africa, Asia and South America – not only is there scarcity of meals and lack of infrastructure but also maldistribution and inadequate entry to meals. The proper to food protects the right of all human beings to be free from starvation, meals insecurity and malnutrition. By channeling water from streams onto their fields, farmers have been able to settle in areas once thought to be unsuited to agriculture.
